Who is Scout Land Consultants?
Scout is redefining how resource development gets done. Using location intelligence and systems to streamline site acquisition, our team works to identify suitable properties for resource projects and helps facilitate land agreements between the landowner and developer.

ABOUT SCOUT LAND CONSULTANTS
At Scout Land Consultants, we help our clients maximize the use of land. Our team provides property owners with simple, tailored solutions to maximize the value of their land by leveraging years of experience and a curated network of the nation’s top developers. We also provide developers with a national database of prescreened sites for bespoke development and personal relationships with interested landowners.

Scout is a nationwide land consulting firm dedicated to identifying sites suitable for energy projects and helping landowners sell or lease to the country’s top developers.
POSITION SUMMARY
Welcome to the front line! You will be joining our land acquisition team to help negotiate land agreements on behalf of our developer partners. You will be supported by our best in class lead generation tools, operating system, and training to ensure you are equipped for success. You will be part of a respectful, values-driven team that loves to work hard and have fun.
This job is all about delivering results by building strong relationships with landowners and developers. Success comes from taking initiative, being competitive, and staying focused despite changing conditions. With the fast-paced nature of the work, innovation and quick thinking are crucial for building rapport and solving problems. You’ll need to manage multiple transactions, prioritize communication, and adapt quickly. The role requires an outgoing and persuasive communication style, along with a sense of urgency and independence. High standards and a strong commitment to achieving results through teamwork are key.
Reports to: Director of Land Acquisition
Location: Greenville, SC preferred, but remote is possible for the right situation
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Acting as the primary go-between with landowners and our developer partners to facilitate land agreements
- Communicating key deal terms and addressing landowner objections
- Working with third party attorneys, accountants, and advisors to facilitate negotiations
- Using our operating system to track key activities including communication notes, updating workflow stages, and supporting management reporting efforts as needed
- Working directly with the analyst team for administration and lead generation support
- Representing the company in a professional and respectful manner consistent with our core values.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in business, communications or related field is preferred
- Results-driven professional with at least 2 years of demonstrated success in deal-making, transaction management, or related disciplines involving legal contracts. Preferred experience in residential or commercial real estate, energy siting, agricultural sales, or a similar field.
- Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with contract terms are essential for success in this role.
- An affinity for the outdoors
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and have a gift for finding and expressing the key idea in a complex issue
- A knack for quickly understanding people’s problems and finding the right solution out of a variety of options.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities concurrently
- Strong principles and moral foundation and it’s important for you to work with people you trust and respect; and your coworkers can expect the same from you
- Results-oriented mindset driven by achieving and surpassing performance targets.
